The Overgiving Caregiver
Caring for Others Without Abandoning Yourself
Overgiving is not limited to formal caregiving. It can show up in the ways we provide, assist or help, accommodate, anticipate, rescue, and carry more than our share in work, family, leadership, and relationships.
In this masterclass, we will explore the hidden patterns that drive overgiving and why capable, caring people so often override their own needs, instincts, and limits in order to keep everything going. Participants will be invited to look beneath the behavior to better understand the internal dynamics that shape this pattern and the cost of staying in it too long.
This conversation will help participants begin to recognize:
the difference between caring and overgiving
how overgiving can become a pattern of self-abandonment
the internal drivers behind overfunctioning, over-accommodating, and carrying too much
how these patterns affect energy, clarity, boundaries, and well-being
how greater awareness can create more choice, self-trust, and a more sustainable way of caring
This masterclass is for caregivers, professionals and leaders in most arenas, and anyone who finds themselves consistently giving more than is healthy or sustainable.

The Personal Operating System Check-In
Changing the behavior – we want to just DO IT.
We want to stop procrastinating. Stop overreacting. Stop overcommitting. Speak up sooner.
Set the boundary. Make the better decision.
But behavior is rarely where the story begins.
Something happened. We interpreted it. Our physiology responded.
And by the time we arrived at the behavior, quite a bit had already happened within us.
That distinction matters.
Because if we only look at what we did, we may miss what was driving us while we were doing it.
And without that awareness, we can spend a lot of energy correcting the visible result while the underlying pattern remains intact.
That’s why I created My Check-In. It’s a simple one-page reflection tool built around:
Information → Interpretation → Physiological Response → Behavior → Result
Not to judge the response. Not to immediately fix it. To notice first.
When we can see and feel what is happening within our system – and recognize what is driving our response – we have more choice about how we respond and what we create next.
Get your complimentary copy of My Check-In. It’s a simple 5 step process that you can use repeatedly to bring you in touch with what may be driving your behavior so you will then know what it is that you want to change.
